It has been a very busy but productive start to the year for A&D Environmental Services Ltd.
HSE Asbestos License
The asbestos licence which we have and issued by the Health & Safety Executive was due for renewal by the end of March, we had to issue our new licence submission in the first week of January 2021 in order to enable sufficient time for the HSE Inspectors to complete their in-depth examination before the new licence could be granted.
We are delighted to announce that the HSE Licensing Unit have now issued the new ‘licence to undertake work with asbestos’ which is valid until March 2024.
The HSE Inspectors examination is an intense exercise and looks at evidence generated during the previous licence duration and covers the following elements: –
- Organisation, Structure, Responsibilities
- Legislative Understanding, Removal Techniques & Air Management
- Planning & Site Checks
- Equipment Maintenance, RPE & PPE Knowledge
- Decontamination, Management & Disposal of Waste
- Monitoring Records & Medical Surveillance
- Leadership, Management and Worker Involvement
- Competence & Training
- Measuring Performance & Review
The designated HSE Inspector reported in the Comments section of the Application Report that “A&D Environmental Services Ltd has demonstrated sufficient positive evidence and a full licence for a 3-year term will be granted”
In addition, our annual Constructionline accreditation was due for renewal towards the end of January 2021 and again we are delighted to report that we have satisfied the requirements of their assessment at Gold Level Membership.
Constructionline is the most connected and progressive provider of public procurement and supply chain services in UK construction, supporting the sector for over 20 years.
Constructionline work with thousands of buyers from the Public sector, helping them to succeed by managing the pre-qualification public procurement process and connecting them with validated suppliers and contractors.
Supporting local economies has become an important focus in recent years for Public Sector procurement which means that local businesses can be involved in construction projects to support local communities.
As part of the accreditation to Constructionline Gold membership also includes an SSIP from Acclaim Accreditation. Safety Schemes in Procurement (SSIP) is the mutual recognition scheme for occupational health and safety standards particularly within the construction sector. SSIP facilitates mutual recognition between health and safety pre-qualification schemes saving time, effort, and cost of multiple certifications for Contractors and Buyers alike.
