Emissions Reduction Targets
In order to continue our progress to achieving Net Zero, we have adopted the
following carbon reduction targets.
We project that carbon emissions will decrease over the next five years to 80 tCO2e
by 2029. This is a reduction of >20%
Scope 1 Actions:
1. We will continue to replace our fleet of vehicles with modern efficient models which
are serviced, maintained at recommended service intervals.
2. Managers vehicles will continue to be leased using hybrid models where available.
3. Drivers will be reminded continually to check tyre pressures are optimum and excel
weight within the vehicles are suitable managed.
4. Journeys will be managed to make most effective use of labour, equipment and
consumables, and minimise unnecessary or repetitive travelling.
5. Move to a 100% electric fleet by 2030 for our light-duty vehicles.
Scope 2 Actions:
1. Flint office gas usage is in part due to an older inefficient boiler which we will ask
the Landlords to replace in 2025/26.
2. Ensure that power management policies are in place and implemented for hardware
such as laptops/PCs/printers etc.
3. Maximise the purchase of renewable-backed energy tariffs as per latest guidance.
4. Implement all available technical solutions, including hardware and software
building and energy management systems.
5. There may be potential to change the boiler for an alternative lower carbon fuel type
such as Biomass. This is realistically planned for some years in the future.
Scope 3 Actions:
1. Business travel - encourage the continued use of virtual meeting platforms.
2. Encourage transport sharing and aim to mandate EVs for car hire when supplier
capacity permits.
3. Employee commuting - investigate the value of offering staff who cover high
mileages an Eco-Driving course to ensure efficient driving.
4. Hotel Stays - preference to be given to accommodation with the highest Green
rating. Environmental criteria to be prioritised in booking accommodation; education
and information to be provided to staff to understand how to reduce the impact of a
hotel stay.
5. Continued encouragement towards Hybrid / Remote meetings.
6. Employee learning and behavior change - every employee has an impact on carbon
emissions; informed and motivated employees are key to making reductions. Every
worker can reduce their energy footprint simply by switching off equipment at night,
separating and sorting waste and travelling as sustainably as possible.
7. Regularly review and update working arrangements in line with best practice and
latest technology developments.
8. Continue to influence our supply chain to operate as responsible businesses.
